Me and my brother want to open a clinic after becoming heart surgeons. Is it possible?

A. The two if you can open your own office. This would mean that the two of you would have to share a lot of work. As a cardiac surgeon, you would have to be on call every day for your patients. You would get very tired if you are called in during the night. I wouldn't want you doing my surgery if you had been up all night. You would have an easier work day if you were part of a group. You could start your own group when you finish your education.

A. Oral and maxillofacial surgeons typically work in clinics or sometimes general dentist/orthodontic offices. Typically however they work as a team in a separate clinic. I actually wanted to be a maxillofacial surgeon since I have had personal experience with their work (extraction of premolars). Now it's my backup plan if I not enjoy orthodontics. =)

Has anyone ever had Dr. Heidi Chua as a gastroenterology surgeon?
Q. I have Crohn's and my doctor thinks its time for me to have resection surgery. I am going to the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville and the surgeon that I am assigned is Dr. Heidi Chua. Has anyone ever had experience with her? It would be great to hear feedback.

A. hi mark, i am a crohnie like yourself who's had many surgeries. in regards to checking out the MD, call the office and ask to speak with the office mgr or one of the nurses. heck see if you can make an appt. before surgery and meet with the surgeon yourself to get insight to her bedside manner and expertise. If you have friends or family that work in the hospital she does, ask them for an opinion. ask your referring MD abou her. Just say what surgeon would you recommend to have surgery on one of your family members?? throw it back at him. Most doctors get the best of the best for their family. If you have a good relationship w/your doctor, then come out and just ask him if she's really good. that is what I've done in the past and it… [cont.]
