What is good weight loss plan for a pescetarian?
Q. I am a pescetarian, meaning that i am a "vegitarian" who eats fish. I am looking for a weight loss plan that will help me lose some weight while still not eating any meat other than fish.

A. Great.i was a pescetarian myself some years ago..take steamed fish with oatmeal for dinner(you may season it with pepper and a drizzle of sesame oil, and do add eggplants and carrots by the side)...do stick to your regular dose of veggies n fruit...do keep a limit on soy products because too much soy raises estrogen in your blood and that will be enough to limit your body from burning excess fat... Fatloss4idiots diet plan really help me generate a diet plan with the food that i choice. It's really helpful. Hope this help Best Wishes,

A. Hello, The reason all the other diets, diet foods, organic foods, healthy foods, medicines and all the rest don't work in this modern technologically-amazing age is because they were deliberately designed not to! I dont want to repeat myself constantly, or go on another rant of how messed up our world is - but it is a shame and people need to WAKE UP and realise what is going on. The diet industry makes billions out of insecure people and they want to keep it that way. Every year we are sold diet products that do not work. I hope people reading this really think about what I am saying here, just do a simple youtube search and find out for yourself. I have researched these facts, facts that they dont want you to know but I have gone on… [cont.]

When does weight loss start to get easier?
Q. I've heard the second week is the hardest especially because there is little results and not as easy to stick to. At what point will it get easier mentally? Also, when do results start to show, is it a lot of weight loss the first week, then hardly anything the next, then stay at a steady rate after that?

A. It's all depend on which weight loss program that you incorporate in order to achieve your ideal weight. A healthy weight loss program is one which does not make you lose weight in such a manner that your health is spoiled. Starvation is not a worthy way to lose weight because most people will fail to abide to the program rules after a certain period. Many such programs and diet plans go overboard in their attempt to make people lose fat rapidly. Fad diets or starvation diets are a definite no-no. There are so many harmful effects of starving yourself and not eating properly. And many times you would not lose body fat with such fad diets, instead you will lose water weight. Similarly - low carb diets, low protein diets etc. that make you… [cont.]

What weight loss supplements can people with Bipolar condition take?
Q. I would like to know specifically what supplements to help aid weight loss for Bipolar people on weight gaining Bipolar medication (which slows the metabolism and increases appetitite) I already know of Green Tea to speed up metabolism and suppress appetite and Acai Berry DOES help you look a bit thinner in the face and relieves minimal bloat if taken moderately. What other supplements are safe? I want as much help as i can get! Thanks!

A. I understand the problem with meds and weight gain. Going through it myself. However, I would not risk any supplement etc. This is because they may have something in them that could trigger a manic state. Supplements are not required to be tested by the FDA and we don't always know what is in these supplements and what might trigger an exacerbation in our symptoms. I do agree with the other poster about exercise. It is sooo hard to do. I seriously have problems with staying motivated but my 15 year old (also bipolar) excercises everyday and she actually weighs less AND she eats whatever she wants. She just gets a lot of excercise and it works. Hope that helps.

How much protein should a female consume for weight loss?
Q. I've been working out consistently for about a year, but my weight loss has been really slow. I've only lost about 15-18lbs. I've also changed my diet and started eating a lot healthier. I haven't been intaking much protein and I believe that is a reason why my weight loss has been slow. How much protein should I take to speed up my weight loss? Are there any recipes, shakes or vitamins I should be taking? I workout at least 3-4x a week. On average I'm at the gym for 1hr. - 1.5hrs. I've been attending the RPM & Body Pump classes at least 2x a week. On the other days I'm doing cardio and weightlifting. I also do resistence training.

A. Protein: Beans, lean meats such as boneless skinless chicken and fish, peanut butter (about 1 tablespoon for a serving), etc... Lean Protein should make up about 40% of your daily nutritional intake per day. 30% is for whole grains. 20% is for fruits & vegetables. 10% is for fat.

I am starting a weight loss competition in my family, whats the best way to measure progress?
Q. I wanted to start a weight loss competition this summer in my family, but I wanted it to be fair. For example its probably easier for my 260 pound brother to lose a pound than my 160 pound mom. So whats is the best way to compare? Should it just be percentage of mass? Should fat be considered? Should i buy a body fat analyzer? Because i guess if someone lost 10 pounds of fat and gained 3 pounds of muscle, wouldn't that be better than someone else who just lost 9 pounds of fat? Just curious what people's thoughts on this are, i want it to be as fair as possible but with accurate measures of comparison.

I want to know if it is necessary to stick to the regiment of 2 pounds max per week for weight loss or it's alright to lose more if you're doing higher intensity exercises like swimming, running, bicycling. A. It really doesn't matter how big you get (as long as you are not grossly overweight). What matters is how healthy your skin is, and the skin type you were born with. The Vitamins that directly affect skin health are... Making sure you are taking these daily along with lots of water for hydration is VITAL to help your skin repair itself. If you can stand to do it, you should replace every fluid in your diet with water--but make sure you don't drink too much. You need to keep your skin hydrated, but you can make yourself sick if you drink TOO much.

What do you eat after weight loss surgery?
Q. I'm considering weight loss surgery. What does one eat after a surgery? Could I just follow the same diet (without the surgery) and get the same results?
Asked by babygirl123455 - Sun Jul 15 11:10:08 2007 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. If you are considering the surgery, why are you asking if you can get the same results following the same diet? Surgery is the last option for those who are seriously overweight, and ALL other methods have failed. It sounds like you want to try and change your diet, which is good. If you have not tried diet and exercise, then you should. This surgery is dangerous, and full of risks. Spend the time exercising and eating healthy food. It took a long time for you to put on the weight, so it is going to take a long time to take it off. Just be patient and you will be rewarded for your efforts. They give you very strict instructions about what you can, and cannot eat after surgery. For instance, you cannot drink and eat at the same time. You… [cont.]

Q. I am looking for some online support, or a chat room, for weight loss. Does anyone have any recommendations? It doesn't matter what type of diet the other people are doing, I am just looking for other people to talk to while trying to lose weight. Just to clarify, I am not looking for a diet, I am looking for people to talk to. I do Weight Watchers, I exercise and I have a very realistic outlook of how much I want to lose in a given week. The first answer I got from Lexi is really weird, so this is why I am clarifying my question.

A. Olive oil is always a wise choice in cooking oil. It contains monounsaturated fat which is actually good for your body. However, sometimes, depending on the dish you are preparing, you won't want the strong taste that olive oil imparts to food. In those cases, I'd reccomend canola oil. It's healthier than vegetable oil, cooks just as well, and doesn't leave any kind of unwanted taste with the food.

Asked by _ - Thu May 21 16:56:32 2009 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Weight lifting is great for fat loss, but you should be doing cardio also. Weight lifting increases your metabolism and your energy throughout the day. You actually burn just about as many calories lifting weights as you do running. One of the things is you have to incorporate both. weight lifting alone wont help you lose that much weight. Cardio and proper diet are the 2 key things to fat loss. As long as you burn more calories then you eat, you will lose weight. But that doesn't mean stop eating, or eat once a day. That's awful for your body and will actually have the reverse effect. When your body doesn't get enough calories during the day it goes into storage mode, and will actually keep your fat cells, and get rid of your muscle… [cont.]
