How do I treat blood vessels growing into my cornea?
Q. I was told by my eye doctor that blood vessels are growing into my cornea because of my contact lenses. Because of this news, I have been wearing my glasses almost every day. I wear my contacts once or twice every two weeks at the most. But, it seems like it is getting worse, or at least not helping. I'm afraid because I heard that blood vessels growing into the cornea, if left untreated, can effect one's vision. How can I treat the blood vessels growing into my cornea?
Asked by jabird - Sat Jun 19 21:19:17 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. It is a question for your eye doctor. You say 'my eye doctor' told me -- surely, at that time,he recommended some action? Did he tell you to wear your glasses rather than contacts? - and for how long? Is your doc an opthalmologist? Go back to see him soon - next week - and ask him how to treat the problem. I'm sure you are concerned about the problem, as evidenced by your question. Best luck to you.

What kind of blood vessels are helped by the contracting of skeletal muscles?
Q. What kind of blood vessels are helped by the contracting of skeletal muscles? Please help me?
Asked by Marilyn G - Mon Feb 25 19:17:42 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Depends what you mean by 'helped'. 1. There is the skeletal muscle pump. This functions when you stand up and venous blood pools in your legs due to gravity. The skeletal muscle in you leg will contract (even without moving your leg). These contractions put pressure on the vein walls and force blood back towards your heart. I would answer veins... good luck

A. Broken blood vessels cause bruising. Put some ice on the area ( wrapped in a wash cloth) and the swelling and bruising should go away.

Can a dog get broken blood vessels in her eyes from choking?
Q. My dogs were wrestling outside and one got her jaw hooked in the other dogs collar. In a short amount of time, my lab could not breathe, but my aussie was panicking and could not get the collar out of her mouth. Now my lab has protruding red rings around her eyes. I think she must have broken some blood vessels in her eyes. I am planning to call the vet in the morning, but has anyone encountered this before?

A. Yes your dog could have broken some blood vessels. Your vet will most likely give you some eye drops to put in her eye for a while.

Where are the blood vessels and the nerve terminals located?
Q. Hello everyone. Can someone help me out with this question? Thanks! Where are the blood vessels and the nerve terminals located?
Asked by Christopher R - Sat Jul 10 19:52:53 2010 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Blood vessels run throughout the human body. Nerve terminal is any of the cordlike bundles of fibers made up of neurons through which sensory stimuli and motor impulses pass between the brain or other parts of the central nervous system and the eyes, glands, muscles, and other parts of the body. Nerves form a network of pathways for conducting information throughout the body... So, both nerve terminals and blood vessels are present throughout the body.

How do I fix swollen blood vessels in my eyes?
Q. I looked at my eyes and they've started to get red vessels (lines) around the iris/pupil. They aren't regular because they are all over and I've not seen them before. I think I've strained my eyes too much. Anyway, the blood vessels keep bursting in one of them, and I'm concerned. What should I do to relax them, and how long will it take for them to heal up?
Asked by John R - Wed Nov 12 20:57:44 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. First things first, DON'T use Visine or any other product that will "get the red out". This is most likely your eyes screaming for some lubrication and sleep. Try Refresh Tears, Systane, or Optive 4x day. These are all available over the counter. If you try the tears, and there is no improvement in 10-14 days, then see an optometrist. They can evaluate the situation and refer you to ophthalmology if further examination is needed.

A. You're not talking about varicose-type veins, and instead are referring to those which are just more pronounced, right? If so, you may simply be dehydrated.

What can I use to hide my broken blood vessels on my cheeks?
Q. I tried foundation and it hid some of it. But, it mainly only hid my enlarged pores rather than some large blood vessels that broke. Is there any natural thing I can do to get rid of them or should I use any special make up, like a concealer or face primer? I already use a moisturizer.
Asked by unknown - Tue Apr 14 21:03:38 2009 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Generally if we have some red marks that we wanna conceal what we need to use is a green concealer. There are face correcting primer that are available in the market that are colored light green. I guess it can help you. Smashbox for one is a good primer...as long as you are not allergic to silicone... Look for skin correcting primer that is green...that ought to work for you... Moisturize first then wait for a couple of minutes before you put the primer on.. ^_^

Why do blood vessels appear if you do anaerobic exercise?
Q. When I use free weights my blood vessels become to more apparent & visible on the surface. I would like to know whether it is arteries or veins showing or both. Also whether this is a good or bad sign. I have been told by my father that is a sign of a poor diet and straining one self excessively. All in all, I would like to know what causes it, why does it happen & whether it is good or bad. Oh by the way, is fat required for a body building life style?

A. The Circle of Willis?? Function The Circle of Willis provides multiple paths for oxygenated blood to supply the brain if any of the principal suppliers of oxygenated blood (i.e., the vertebral and internal carotid arteries) are constricted by physical pressure, occluded by disease, or interrupted by injury. This redundancy of blood supply is generally termed collateral circulation. Location Found on the inferior brain surface surrounding the pituitary gland which was cut off to show the circle. The stalk of the pituitary remains highlighted in aqua. The optic nerves are also cut (yellow ).

A. Heat is doing to dilate the blood vessel, when blood vessels dilate, blood flow increases, and oxygen present in the blood can be dilivered to the tissues and muscles more qucikly. as a results the tissues are going to use the oxygen in respiration and lactic acid is going to get broken down.

A. With your eyelid closed, if you shine the flashlight close to your eyelid and shine it around on different parts and directions, you should start to see the vessels. You are basically confusing your brain and it stops ignoring the blood vessels and allows you to see them.

Smaller blood vessels and coronary arteries cause you too store more fat and less muscle?
Q. I read that Asians have blood vessels and coronary arteries 70% size of Caucasians. Does this cause us too store more fat when we eat the same amount of food? Should we eat less and try to eat 7-8 small meals a day? How often should we eat these small meals, every hour?
Asked by Tre M - Thu Aug 14 09:29:56 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments
A. First of all I think 7-8 small meals a day would be crazy. Even people who think they're doing good by eating 6 small meals a day are just wasting their time. Our bodies are made to take about 3-4 meals a day, the reason why people started eating more meals is because of boydbuilders who wanted to make sure they were getting the most out of their supplements (because the body can only absorb so many nutrients in one sitting). As for the storing more fat due to the arteries being smaller, I don't think thats true, even the arteriest being 70% the size seems a little far fetched. But either way I don't think you should change your daily life from anything typical.
