A. You can use white vinegar in your face mask. Or, if you have any wine vinegar. You could also try just substituting water until you can get your hands on some vinegar. Best kind of apple cider vinegar is the raw organic kind with the mother. It is very healing to the skin and helps to restore and maintain pH balance.

Can I substitute white or balsamic vinegar for apple cider vinegar in a recipe?
Q. I'm making vegan cornbread. It's cold and I don't want to drive to the supermarket. Is there an acceptable substitute for the apple cider vinegar? Thanks.
Asked by Pinky sur la mer - Wed Jan 6 15:55:37 2010 - - 5 Answers - 0 Comments

A. The balsamic vinegar might be a little strongly-flavored for cornbread, but white vinegar will work. It won't have quite the same tang as if you'd used cider vinegar, but it'll taste just fine.

Can I substitute white vinegar for apple cider vinegar?
Q. Or maybe half white vinegar and half apple juice? I'm trying out a recipe for Carolina pulled pork.
Asked by SmartyArty - Wed Mar 12 21:03:47 2008 - - 6 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I am from North Carolina and you need apple cider vinegar for barbecue. And when you pull the pork don't pull it into long shreds if you want authentic Carolina bbq. Pulling it simply means pulling the meat from the bone and then it is chopped. We use a wooden chopping block and a cleaver, but use what you have. Oh and to clarify-what you are calling pulled pork is what we call barbecue.

Substitute for the apple cider vinegar?
Q. I have been taking the organic apple cider vinegar, to clean up my liver (bladder?). However, those stupid workers at the internet vitamin shop made a mistake and the shipping is being delayed. I need it right now. But since it will take some time to be here, I must find the substitute for it. Do you recommend anything works similar to the ACV? I am looking for something that we can easily find in our everyday lives. thank you, and please help.

A. White wine vinegar...same color and not that much taste. Apple cider vinegar definitely has a distinct taste that might be detectable in the cake.

A. Do you have regular or rice wine vinegar? Use that instead. If not, use lemon juice -- twice as much lemon juice as the amount of vinegar called for in the recipe.

A. For a salad I would say yes. I would like to know how much vinegar is needed for your recipe. If it is a small amount, you could do it, It may affect the taste very slightly, but if that's all you have--go for it.

Need substitute for apple cider vinegar!?
Q. I'm making a marinade for chicken, and forgot to get ACV. I don't have time to go to the market as I have to get ready for church now. I have white vinegar, rice vinegar, and seasoned rice vinegar. Would any of these work, and which would work best. It's a sweet & sour marinade with lemon juice, lime juice, brown sugar, garlic and coarse mustard. HELP!
Asked by V G - Sun Jul 20 12:43:27 2008 - - 1 Answers - 0 Comments

A. I would just use the white vinegar, it won't make that big of a difference at all. And if you're already using the juices and sugar, you're taking care of the flavor. Don't worry.. it'll be great!

What's a good substitute for "White Wine Vinegar"?
Q. There's a recipe I'm wanting to try, but it calls for "white wine vinegar". All I have is, apple cider, white distilled, balsamic, and seasoned rice wine vinegar. Would you suggest either of these as a sub?
Asked by Snowflake - Tue May 6 17:47:10 2008 - - 2 Answers - 0 Comments

A. It would depend on what you're making. Without knowing what it is you are making, any of them but the balsamic vinegar would be a fair trade. If it's a viniagrette that you are making, the vinegar really doesn't matter...it just depends on what flavor of acidity you like best.
